The Body Shop Launches Maca Root Line For Men
Touted as the ‘super food of the Andes,’ the maca root, dense with essential vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, was first used by the Inca more than 2,000 years ago for energy and endurance. During the height of the Incan empire, legend has it that Incan warriors would consume maca before entering battle to make them fiercely strong. Oh, and it’s also known as “Peruvian Viagra,” if that’s what it takes to keep you reading.
And fiercely strong this Greenthinker felt approaching the ingenious press event held by The Body Shop earlier this week to mark the launch of their new Maca line for men.
The location: an old-timey men’s barbershop.
The goal: an old-timey men’s shave using The Body Shop’s new Maca products.

So here’s the semi-professional review:
As for the professional shave, it was a great indulgence (not to mention the closest shave I’ve ever had). I enjoyed the old world atmosphere and would do it again in a heartbeat for some sort of special occasion - a wedding, a photoshoot in a national magazine - or group outing. But it’s certainly not something I feel a need to do too often.
On to the Maca products, I felt fantastic all day. My skin felt rich and full of (paraben free!) moisture but still not oily. It actually kept my skin under control through to the next morning as I fell asleep on the couch reigniting my relationship with my PVR.
I have nothing but complimentary things to say for the Maca products used on that day; and I hope to continue to feel the same way when I start trying out all the samples in the near future. The previous Body Shop shaving cream was great, so this will have to be a real charmer to win me over completely.

Comments are sorta kinda broken right now. We're working on it but to save energy can only work in daytime when solar system is at peak performance.
