Following up on our introductory post about The Body Shop’s new line of maca-based Men’s grooming products, it’s time for a product-by-product breakdown. Let’s start with the For Men Maca Root Wash Off Shave Oil.

We’ll be the first to admit that using a shave oil was new to us. What exatly is a shave oil, you might ask. Well, to be precise, it’s an oil that helps create a precision shave and easy razor glide by softening the bristles and allowing clearer visibility.

What we like about it:

• It works. It softens the hair and gets the face ready for a nice shave. What a treat!

• It contains Community Trade Brazil nut oil moisturizes, smoothes and softens skin.

• It also features Community Trade organic soy oil, rich in essential fatty acids, helps the razor glide and restores skin’s natural moisture barrier.

• And best of all, the featured ingredient is maca, the “super food of the Andes,”. The maca root, dense with essential vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, was first used by the Inca more than 2,000 years ago for energy and endurance. This history now loves on in shave oil form.
