Motorola's Phone Made From Water Bottles

motorolareneww233_photos.jpg

The Motorola MOTO Renew W233 is the world’s first phone made from recycled water bottles and likewise comes with a carbon neutral footprint for those who want to minimize carbon consumption. The best part is that the Renew costs 20% less to manufacture which will hopefully translate to a very affordable price tag.

As far as its features are concerned, it comes with dual-band 850/1900 GSM/EDGE, CrytalTalk technology and supports microSD cards with up to 2GB capacity. It may not be heavy on the features, but this will definitely win Motorola points with Green Peace and other environmentally minded consumers.

As for its green credentials, this is the first certified Carbonfree cell phone on the market. Through an alliance with Carbonfund.org, Motorola will offset the energy to manufacture, distribute and operate the phone by investing in renewable energy sources and reforestation. In fact, 100% of the phone’s housing is recyclable. Inside the box, you’ll find a prepaid envelope to return your old phone for recycling. Very cool. So when will we see it in stores?
