econscious has launched an online retail store for the public! In response to consumer requests for econscious blank, organic and sustainable apparel, which until now was only available to designers, econscious has launched an online retail site. We’re talking clothes, hats, bags and stuff like that. This is good news.

Plus, econscious is excited to announce its retail partnership with 1% For the Planet, a growing global movement of 1074 companies that donates 1% of their sales to a network of 1702 environmental organizations worldwide. Very cool stuff. Visit ecoconsciout today!

Press release after the jump.

Petaluma, Calif., March 4, 2009 — In response to consumer requests for econscious’ blank organic and sustainable apparel, which until now was only available to designers, econscious launched an online retail store open to the public (www.econscious-store.net).

The online store will offer retail quality, organic cotton, and sustainable products directly to consumers. econscious’ sustainable product line includes a complete range of Fashion Tees, Fleece, Hats, Beanies and Bags made with certified organic cotton and sustainable fibers. The collection includes men’s and women’s apparel and accessories in a variety of colors.

econscious is a trusted supplier of organic and sustainable apparel and accessories to international clothing companies, and its founders are amongst the pioneers of organic apparel. This knowledge has enabled the company to create the finest quality products using carefully sourced organic and sustainable fibers. econscious has established a market-based approach to sustainable manufacturing, working closely with supply chains, ensuring fair trade, and eliminating the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and other harmful chemicals.

econscious’ President, Dale Denkensohn, helped lead Patagonia’s conversion to organic cotton in the 1990’s and is a leader in organic and sustainable manufacturing. According to Mr. Denkensohn, “A seismic shift is occurring towards sustainable practices. We’re now offering organic cotton products so that individuals can be a part of this movement, make a positive statement and at the same time reduce their environmental impact on our planet.”
